Pacas Coffee Variety

Pacas was discover by the Pacas family in El Salvador in 1949. It is a dwarf variety known for good cup quality and yield but is vulnerable to all major coffee diseases, especially coffee leaf rust. It is a natural mutation of Bourbon where a change in a single gene causes it to grow smaller and more compact. Pacas is found mostly in El Salvador and Honduras and is favoured to due its high planting density.
